ScanDEX-IX works in three modes: Design, Insert and Query.

In Design mode you can define your database and index fields. You can link fields to areas in the image and you can create macros to help simplify and automate the indexing process.

In Insert mode you control the attached scanner(s), via direct device interface or virtual disk scanner, and perform the indexing with help from the system. Feed the scanner and index later, or index while you scan – the choice is yours. If you have Aperture Cards with Hollerith punch codes, then the indexing can be done automatically. You only need to feed the Aperture Card scanner(s).

In Query mode you can work with the archive. There is a user-friendly browser with a quickview facility where you can view the contents of the archive. You can search for records that fulfill specific criteria, make changes to your archive, version records and design your own queries.

WiseImage Pro GEO can drive all models of IDEAL/Contex scanners, thus reducing system cost by eliminating the need for additional scanner operating software. IDEAL/Contex Scanners offer Accuracy Lens Enhancement (ALE) technology for our entire range of scanners. While most scanner manufacturers state+-0.1% accuracy between the two end-points of the scan line, (ALE) is an electronic correction of spherical errors in CCD based camera-scanning systems, which enables IDEAL/Contex scanners to maintain precision across any two points of the scan line. GIS professionals require a high grade of precision stability in the scanned image with a well-defined maximum deviation of 0.1% or less. IDEAL/Contex scanners exceed, even the most rigid requirements in the industry today.

Document Management
Use WiseImage Pro GEO to edit scanned maps or to convert to vector files as needed. Then, upload and archive the most current revision back on the intranet or the Internet using ScanDEX-IX for departmental access and viewing or Online PlanRoom for enterprise-wide access and viewing.

PlanTracer enables you to convert simple graphics of source floor plans into objects such as walls, columns, windows, doors, etc. PlanTracer can process any 2D floor plan loaded into ADT. You can use DWG/DXF files or scanned raster drawings (requires Image Enabler module or WiseImage) and convert them into intelligent models. Plus PlanTracer provides OLE-Automation interface for easy integration with other applications.

Conversion of 2D Drawings
The conversion of 2D drawings into an intellectual model is based on unique algorithms that enable recognition of arbitrary object by searching and recognizing patterns in 2D plans. PlanTracer has been developed for companies offering A/E/C solutions and customers working with ADT.
